SRSNLC at the Teen Center/Youth Center
At the Round Lake Area Park District, SRSNLC operates out of the Teen Center/Youth Center where we offer a variety of activities including:

• Special Olympics Sports
• T.O.D.A.Y. Club (Adult Day Program)
• Overnight Trips
• Socials/Cooperatives
• Youth & Teen Programs
• Early Childhood/Family Programs
• Evening/Weekend Outings
• Summer Camps

Much like the Child Development Center Site II and Sports Center, The Teen Center/Youth Center sits on the 40 acres of land known as the North Shore Property. In the past, this facility has offered a variety of recreational programs including teen camp, parent-tot programs and half-day preschool.

Full Access for All - ADA
SRSNLC advocates for full participation under the Americans with Disabilities Act, (ADA), which prohibits discrimination in the provision of programs, services, or activities to individuals with disabilities. Every attempt a reasonable accommodation will be made so that individuals may participate in a desired program. We are committed to meeting your unique, individual needs.
Inclusion Opportunities
We understand that not every person with special needs requires SRSNLC services. We invite people, of all ages, with special needs to participate in a multitude of programs. We will work cooperatively to assist any resident who wishes to participate in a park district program. We will make reasonable accommodations and will work with the registrant, his or her family and others to ensure a safe and enjoyable leisure experience. If you are interested in participating in a park district program, please contact us so we can support your participation through observations, in-service or staff training, providing community leisure resources or the assistance of volunteers or “Leisure Buddies.” When filling out your park district registration form please check the box indicating you would like to be contacted regarding special accommodations.
Employment & Volunteers
SRSNLC programs rely on dedicated part-time program leaders and inclusion aides. Click here for the employment page and a list of special recreation employment opportunities.

SRSNLC is always looking for people interested in donating some time to a wonderful cause working with persons with disabilities. Volunteers should have a positive attitude, be outgoing and friendly and enjoy working with people of different backgrounds. Imagine being able to put a smile on a participant's face, that's why we need you! For more information on volunteering please contact Jessica Jeffery-Findley jjeffery@rlapd.org or Jenny Simpson jsimpson@rlapd.org at 847-740-9828.
