Part-Time

REGISTRATION CLERK
Availability: weeknights and Saturday mornings (9am -1pm)

Hours: not to exceed 15 hours per week

SCHOOL AGE LEAD COUNSELOR (at Park District)

The Round Lake Area Park District is looking for reliable people to work with school-aged children in the Before and After School Program. The School Age Lead Counselor will supervise and lead activities that are age appropriate for children 5-12 years old.

Candidate must have the ability to work with 5-12 year old children, hold current First Aid and CPR certification, and have two years of college with six credits of school age classes or one year experience working with school age children or a high school diploma with two years’ experience working with school aged children. Associates Degree preferred.

SCHOOL AGE LEAD COUNSELOR (in District 116 Schools)

The Round Lake Area Park District is looking for reliable people to work with school-aged children in the Before and After School Programs located within the Round Lake Area Elementary Schools (Beach, Ellis, Indian Hill, Murphy, Pleviak, and Village).

Qualifications:

Applicants must be 21 or over, enjoy working with children, be self-motivated, possess excellent communication skills, be certified in CPR/First Aid, and have experience working with children or have completed applicable college classes.

Job Responsibilities and Hours:

Before School Program: 6:00 AM – approximately 8:20 or 8:50 (depending on school’s start time)

The Before School Lead will begin set-up at 6:00 AM and open the doors for families at 6:30 AM. The Lead is responsible for planning activities, executing the plans, communicating with parents, the park district, and the school, engaging with the children, and keeping the site clean. The Lead will walk the students to the designated location when breakfast or school begins.

After School Program: Approximately 3:00 or 3:30 (depending on school’s release time) – 6:00 PM

The After School Lead will begin set-up prior to the students’ release. (In the case that the After School Lead is also a school employee, set-up can be done with the children present.) The Lead is responsible for planning activities, executing the plans, serving an afternoon snack, communicating with parents, the park district, and the school, engaging with the children, and keeping the site clean.  The Lead will be responsible for verifying the identification of authorized adults prior to the release of each child.

The Round Lake Area Park District School Age employees are eligible for discounts through the park district including free childcare for one child while they are working.

Special Recreation Services of Northern Lake County is looking for people 18 and over interested in donating some time to a wonderful cause working with persons with disabilities. We are looking for general volunteers for a variety of programs and our Adult Day program the "T.O.D.A.Y. Club" (Together Opening Doors Around You). Volunteers should have a positive attitude, be outgoing and friendly and enjoy working with people of different backgrounds.
